The freezeBOSS Intense pipe freezing kit forms a temporary ice plug inside a live water line so you can cut in, repair or extend pipework without shutting off the mains or draining the system. It suits steel, copper and plastic pipe from 8mm to 28mm.
The refrigerant freezes down to -50°C and typically forms a plug within minutes. Once formed, the plug holds pressures over 230psi, well above normal domestic mains pressure, and lasts up to 45 minutes. That leaves time to finish a tap, valve or fitting change. The kit comes with one 415ml Intense can and two disposable jackets, so it's worth keeping one in the van for emergency call-outs and isolation jobs where no stop valve is available.
