The solar copper press equal tee branches a high temperature copper line at the same size on all three ports. Use it to split solar collector flow, tee off to a tempering valve or relief line, or branch the hot side of a storage or heat pump water heater, with a press seal rated for sustained high temperature service.
Every fitting in the solar range is factory-fitted with a red FKM (Viton) ring seal in place of the standard EPDM water seal. FKM holds its shape and sealing force at the elevated temperatures found on solar collector circuits, heat pump flow and return lines and the hot side of storage water heaters, where a standard water seal would harden and lose compression over time. The red seal is visible at the socket mouth, so a solar fitting can be identified on the shelf and in the installed pipework.
